It's absolutely beautiful here in Western North Carolina today so I thought we should take advantage and go out and explore. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a great place to spend some quality time and it's right around the corner from the Andon-Reid Inn, MM#443.1. I decided to pack up a picnic lunch and off we went. The drive is incredible and the colors of spring were amazing. We pulled over to the side of the road and took a short hike into Waterrock Knob which is MM#451. It's only about a half mile hike but it takes you up to the summit which is 6,292 feet. Needless to say it was a bit chilly up there ( if you know me, I'm not a cold weather lover) but the spectacular views were well worth it.
