North Carolina Weddings in the Mountains

Yes! Another wedding here at Andon-Reid Inn. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kristian Spencer. What a wonderful celebration it was.Of course the couple wanted an outdoor wedding without any tent. Do they realize that we cannot control the atmospheric Gods? We had been watching the weather report for a full week literally sweating it out because all it has been doing here is rain. Now what? The family arrived on Thursday and Friday, settling in and decorating the bed and breakfast with fall decorations and beautiful flowers everywhere. It literally poured both days. Then Saturday arrived and it started to clear. The ceremony was scheduled for 5PM. At 3PM it started to cloud over and the skies were threatening. We had previously decided not to put the chairs out till 4:30PM just in case there was a sprinkle. Yes...we had a Plan B but we didn't want to go there. At 4:35PM chairs went out, the trellis was planted and the wedding vows took place without a drop of rain. Pictures were taken and then it started to sprinkle. Not a problem, the party already started inside and all around our wraparound porch. Another wonderful ending to a great weekend event.
