Lake Logan Triathlon Winner Here At Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast

A couple of weeks ago the Haywood Regional Health and Fitness Center presented the Lake Logan International Triathlon and Sprint Triathlon. Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast was fortunate to house many of the competing athletes.  The International Triathlon consists of a 1500 meter swim, 24 mile bike and 10k run. The Sprint Triathlon consists of a 500 meter swim, 12 mile bike and 5k run. It is an amazing race to watch. The transitions from each type of sport are crucial. 

Lake Logan offers a welcome break from the heat and humidity. The cool morning air high in the Appalachian Mountains makes for a comfortable race day with the highs topping out near 80 degrees. Another welcome treat to those familiar with Western North Carolina is the beautiful scenery through the Blue Ridge Parkway and the shadow of Cold Mountain.

Our male guests resulted in 78 and 108 out of 226 entries for the International triathlon and 16 out of 76 in the sprint triathlon. Our female guest was 6th  overall out of 87 entries but #1 in her age division. Congratulations to Valerie Perry!
