With Halloween right around the corner, the first thing that comes to my mind is candy. I can think of two stores that we have in downtown Waynesville with delicious confectionery. The Mast General Store has barrels full of candy for you to pick and choose from. Fill your basket with whatever you want and then take it to the cash register. Once they bag it find the closest bench, open up your bag of goodies and it takes you back to yesteryear.
The Chocolate Bear is a purveyor of fine chocolates. It is a beautiful store wafting in wonderful smells of chocolate. The moment you walk into that shop you are greeted with "chocolate eye candy" and welcoming shopkeepers. Whenever we have a special event going on at our Waynesville, North Carolina bed and breakfast I make a visit to The Chocolate Bear so that our guests can experience the taste of this chocolate.
Here is a Halloween snack I put out during the month of October courtesy of my daughter:
Mix together 1 cup of salted peanuts and 1 cup of candy corn...salty and sweet,tastes just like a Payday Candy Bar Mmmm.
