Mrs. North Carolina, Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast

Last year our Waynesville, NC bed and breakfast ran a military getaway giveaway and picked 3 winners. All they had to do is write us a letter as to why they needed this getaway. One of the winners was Major Ian Brinkley and "Mrs. North Carolina" Dawn Brinkley. Dawn was not Mrs. North Carolina at the time we announced the winners. This was a big surprise to us!

Ian and Dawn recently spent their weekend at our Smoky Mountain bed and breakfast and added a 3rd night to be able to take it all in. Dawn actually made this an official visit and wore her "Mrs. North Carolina" banner throughout Waynesville and Cherokee, took plenty of pictures and posted them on Facebook. Needless to say our other guests were excited and wanted to know about both of their experiences. Ian wrote the letter that won them this getaway and it was an amazing essay. The sacrifices that our military make for our freedom is overwhelming.

All I can say is, that if we can at least offer our military  romantic getaways in North Carolina, then Ron and I know that we contributed a little something to those who protect this nation so we can enjoy the freedom that is so many times taken for granted.
