Folkmoot, Western North Carolina, International Festival

Once again our Western North Carolina town of Waynesville will be hosting Folkmoot  an International festival. The name Folkmoot, an Old English word meaning "meeting of the people," was borrowed from a folk festival that was once held in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. This year they celebrate 28 years starting this Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 31. This is a is a two-week celebration of the world's cultural heritage through folk music and dance.

The Parade of Nations on July 22 at 12:30 gets everything started and is a free event along with International Festival Day on July 30 from 10-5.  The grand opening is held at Stompin' Ground in Maggie Valley at 7:30. There is a general admission for this and many of the other events. Click here  for the full schedule.

Many of our guests return to our bed and breakfast in Waynesville, NC year after year to enjoy  the International flair in the mountains of western North Carolina. We actually have a couple of rooms available during the week of July 24th. So come and join us! If you have never experienced this event you should.
