Fall Foliage Report 2011 From Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast

The Fall Foliage report for 2011 has now officially started. It's only the middle of September and we are already getting the question of the day "when is the peak color?"

No matter when you plan an autumn visit at the end of September, in October or early November, you can take a short drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Pisgah National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains to find the best color. We have tours and maps all ready for you.

By late September and early October you will be able to get glimpses of beautiful color in the higher elevations of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Smokies.

An early frost speeds up the show and warm weather prolongs it.The color predictors are anticipating a fall with high color. Warm, sunny days in September with cool nights make for good color.

During October weekends our Waynesville, NC bed and breakfast tends to fill up far in advance; however, there are usually some rooms available during the week on Sunday through Thursday. We hope you will consider visiting our Smoky mountain bed and breakfast then. The stores, galleries and orchards are open and the fall colors are just as spectacular with less crowds.
