Asheville Festival, Cinema Festival Near Waynesville, NC B&B

The Asheville Cinema Festival  will be introducing films to western North Carolina, only 30 minutes from our Waynesville, NC B&B. The carefully selected motion pictures include not yet released films or films that would not otherwise be shown in the western North Carolina area. There are a total of 30 films with a mix of feature-length movies and shorts. There will be three theaters to be used for this festival, Asheville Community Theatre, the Masonic Temple theater and Lexington Avenue Brewery’s back performance room.Opening and closing night events are at the Biltmore Grande cinema at Biltmore Park in south Asheville.

In 2010 the Asheville Cinema Society was formed to support new and seasoned independent filmmakers.   This year the ACS is adding the Cinema Festival to broaden the scope of offerings to its members and other interested parties. Besides the films available they are also offering workshops, panels and discussions groups to further explore the film arena. Special guests of each film such as the director, producer, or actors are at the screening to provide insight into the making of the film.
