Return Guests At Our Bed and Breakfast in Waynesville, North Carolina

To show our gratitude to all of our return guests, we have added a beautiful addition to our walkway, the Guest Walk. Ten visits to our Waynesville, NC bed and breakfast and you will receive an engraved brick with your name on it. Ron added these bricks to either side of the walkway which leads into the entrance of our beautiful Garden Room.

Maybe you'll be our next guest to be on our "Walk of Fame!"

Annual Art Fundraiser,QuickDraw,Waynesville NC Bed Breakfast

It's that time of year again for the annual art fundraiser QuickDraw. This is a lively art-while-you-watch event where guests watch artists create original art during a 60 minute countdown. Our Waynesville NC bed and breakfast loves the fact that it has raised over $32,000 in teacher grants and $13,000 in scholarships which benefits art teaching in the Haywood County schools.

It is being held this year at Laurel Ridge Country Club on April 30 from 4:30-9:30. As a guest you can stroll around and watch the artists build their pieces, plus there is the auction and a meet-the-artist buffet. Last years event funded three college scholarships for high school seniors and more.

Thank you to all the people that support this fine charity!

Taste Of Chocolate, Waynesville NC Bed and Breakfast

A Taste Of Chocolate...a whole evening of chocolate plus experiencing our Waynesville NC bed and Breakfast. What more can you ask for?  This year's event will be held on Saturday, April 30th at the Maggie Valley Country Club from 6pm-9pm and benefits the Haywood-Jackson Volunteer Center. Tickets are $15 which can be purchased at the door.

Last year I made my Brownies With Steroids and it won first place. That's a tough act to follow but I'll give it the old college try. I've been working on a secret recipe. There will be separate categories for Professional Chefs, Amateur Chefs and B&Bs. In addition to all the chocolate, guests will be invited to sample hors d’oeuvres and coffee at the coffee bar, visit the milk fountain or enjoy the wine bar. You will be able to bid on an array of silent auction items which are provided by area businesses, artists and crafters. There will be entertainment throughout the evening, Taste Of Chocolate recipe books and takeout boxes will be available for purchase.

Here at Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast this type of event is what brings the community together. By participating we are helping the center to continue their services in the community. Ron and I just love it here!

Birding Tours At Our Waynesville NC Bed and Breakfast

With more than 20 species of nesting warblers plus vireos, grosbeaks, flycatchers, scarlet tanagers, orioles and more, we decided to put together a birding tour package at our Waynesville, NC bed and Breakfast. Visiting birders can expect great days afield, even during the summer. Throw in cool mountain mornings and dazzling wildflowers along the Blue Ridge Parkway and birding just gets better.

Andon-Reid Inn Bed and Breakfast is offering half-day and full day guided tours. Our tours actually begin the evening before the trip with a short “Meet the Guide” session, where you will learn what to expect including likely species, route, weather forecast  and more. There will be a wine and hor d'oerves hour held for everyone.
Your guide, Don Hendershot, is a naturalist, freelance writer and biological consultant. His column “The Naturalist’s Corner” has appeared weekly in the Smoky Mountain News for more than a decade. Don is contracted with the USDA Forest Service to do bird-point surveys across the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests.

Tours kick-off early with breakfast at 6:30 a.m. Birders leave the Inn, promptly at 7:30 a.m. The Inn will provide snacks and drinks for the half-day tour and snacks, drinks and a brown-bag lunch for the full day trip. Half-day tours normally return to the Inn between 12 and 1 p.m. and full day tours generally return between 5 and 6 p.m. There will be refreshments and a chance to visit while tallying the day’s species upon returning to the Inn.

So if you are planning to visit Western North Carolina and searching for any particular bird species that occurs in the Mountains give this package a try. If you are a birder(s) with specific target species the Inn can help you create a package to fit your needs!

Add $219.00 for a half day and  $279.00 for a full day to the guest room of your choice. These prices are for double occupancy plus 12% tax.
