The first is called Plottfest which is to benefit Head Start of Haywood County. It starts out with a pre-event kickoff VIP Party on Friday, April 20th from 6PM-9PM held at Apple Hill Farms, the former Plott family farm. There will be beer, wine, heavy hors d'oeuvres and live music. Tickets are $50 in which all proceeds go to Headstart. The next day there will be the Great Smoky Mountain Trout & Heritage Festival. It's all about the aquatic ecology, fishing ethics, water safety and education in the area of natural resources. There are 2 FREE CATCH youth fishing clinics limited to children ages 6-15. Then there is the Trout Race. That's something you have to see for yourself. Click here to purchase tickets.
Of course the next event is after my own heart...The Taste of Chocolate to benefit the Haywood County Volunteer Center. This will be my 6th year entering this fun competition. It will be held Saturday, April 21 at the Maggie Valley Club from 6PM-9PM. There will be Ray Lyon at the piano, silent auction and plenty of chocolate.
