Christopher O'Riley, Diana Wortham Theater In Asheville, NC

Christopher O'Riley

The Diana Wortham Theater located in Asheville, NC is presenting Christopher O'Riley on Saturday, March 3rd. He is an amazing musician who has expanded his repertoire of being a classical pianist to alternative rock. He has a special way to bridge pop and classical. O’Riley is well known for his eloquent and compelling musings on music and popular culture. He hosts a show on NPR called "From the Top",of which I listen to every Sunday at 2PM. He introduces the next generation of young artists and interacts with them to show that they are as diverse in their personal lives as they are in the world of music. O’Riley is not to be missed.

Wellness Spa, Mineral Springs, Hot Springs, NC

Photo of Hot Springs Historical city sign

Looking for a wellness spa with mineral springs for a health/relaxation oriented getaway? Our Waynesville bed and breakfast is only 40 miles away from Hot Springs, NC where you can soak in 100-plus degree mineral water surrounded by scenic mountain views.

This charming little town is a day trip we often suggest to our guests. After our hearty breakfast,  we set up a wonderful itinerary for you. It starts off with walking through the town of Hot Springs, checking out the charming shops full of local art, jewelry and pottery. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Pisgah National Forest and the French Broad River the stunning vistas will take your breath away. The Appalachian Trail goes right through town. On to the Hot Springs Resort and Spa  where we made an appointment for you to relax in the natural hot mineral waters. This will help to relieve all the stress and fatigue that your mind and body has endured over the past year. After your soak you can choose from a massage, salt glow, herbal body wrap, botanical mud wrap or an array of facials.  After all of that pampering head back to our Smoky Mountain bed and breakfast and have a late lunch or early dinner at one of our Waynesville NC restaurants.

The Natural Hot Mineral Springs were discovered in 1778 by a group of mountaineer white settlers. Artifacts found at these springs supported the claim that the Cherokee Indians used these springs and believed in their magical curative powers many years before they arrived.

Just one more reason why you need to visit "the" destination in the mountains, Waynesville, North Carolina.

Asheville Small Plate Crawl,Culinary Scene In Asheville

Asheville Small Crawl Logo
Asheville's Small Plate Crawl invites you to sample the best of Asheville's culinary scene. During 3 days of special small plate menus, that the chefs have created, you can try all those restaurants you have been hearing about.

The first ever event like this in Asheville will be held on February 21-23. Crawl from restaurant to restaurant, as of now there are about 30 participating. The menus will be offering plates from $3-$8. At one of our favorite places, Zambra, you will find smoked trout stuffed piquillo w/ saffron mantequilla  for just $3.50. My favorite Indian restaurant Mela has fresh calamari dusted with curry flavored chickpea and rice flour batter. Served with mint and tamarind chutneys for only $4.00. You can't go wrong! The Crawl is during lunch and dinner hours. There is more detail  about the hours and a map of all the participants at this website.

You will find that many of the restaurants are within walking distance of each other. So grab a friend and explore all of the eateries. If you are looking for a fun winter outing super cheap this would be a great choice. Our Waynesville NC bed and breakfast is only 30 minutes away from downtown Asheville.
